Privacy policy
The controller of the personal data of the 8th Baltic Electrochemistry Conference website are the Estonian electrochemistry society Elektrokeemia Selts (registry code 80631631), located at Kuslapuu 20, Soinaste, Kambja vald 61709, Tartumaa, and University of Tartu (registry code 74001073) located at Ülikooli 18, 50090 Tartu, Estonia. The following personal data are processed:
– name, phone number and e-mail address;
– delivery address;
– bank account number;
– cost of goods and services and data related to payments (purchase history);
– customer support data.
Personal data is used to manage customer orders and deliver goods.
Purchase history data (date of purchase, goods, quantity, customer data) are used to put together an overview of the goods purchased and to resolve consumer disputes.
The bank account number is used to reimburse payments to the customer.
Personal data such as the e-mail address, telephone number and name of the customer are processed to handle any issues relating to the provision of goods (customer support).

Personal data are stored in the servers of the University of Tartu, which are located on the territory of a member state of the European Union.

Term of sales contract and information about goods and prices
The sales terms apply to purchasing goods from the 8th Baltic Electrochemistry Conference website.

Placing an order
The registration form must be filled out to register for the conference. To finalise the order, the required data fields should be filled in. The total price is then displayed on the screen, which can be paid via a bank link sent via e-mail.
The contract enters into force after the amount subject to payment has been credited to the bank account of Elektrokeemia Selts.
Delivery
The 8th Baltic Electrochemistry Conference: Finding New Inspiration 2 (BEChem 2024) will be held in Tartu, Estonia, on April 14-17, 2024. The customer who has registered and paid the attendance fee can participate in all the conference activities included in the price listed on the conference website.
Cancellations
If you can’t attend the conference, please contact the organisers as soon as possible so the schedule can be fixed accordingly. Handling charges will be deducted from the amount of the refund. Refunds are not given for no-shows. Please be advised that as of March 15, 2024, reimbursement is not possible.
Substitutions
Substitutions must be submitted without exception in writing. Please include “Conference Substitution” in the subject line of your e-mail. The substitute must be from the same organisation as the original registrant. Please name the original registrant and the substitute person (title, first and family name, address, phone, e-mail). Otherwise, we cannot guarantee an accurate listing on the registration list.
Resolution of disputes If a buyer has complaints regarding the online shop, they should send them via e-mail to piret.pikma@ut.ee. If the customer and the conference organisers fail to resolve a dispute by reaching an agreement, the customer has the right to turn to the Consumer Disputes Committee. The Consumer Disputes Committee is authorised to resolve disputes arising from the contract between the customer and the conference organisers. The customer’s complaints are reviewed by the Committee free of charge. The buyer may turn to the Online Dispute Resolution platform of the EU.
